Lots of people are using LLMs to generate code, and there is a lot of hype surrounding the technology at the moment. So, I feel the need to say that all of the projects and ideas that I write about here are entirely human-crafted.
I could write a long piece about how many developers use LLMs to offload critical thinking or how generating code with LLMs leaves humans stuck with the part of software development we suck at most. I have read many such takes and I do believe that developers should be wary of becoming overly-reliant on a statistical token generator.
But the truth is this: in my free time, I write code for projects that interest me -- for fun. And, LLMs make the whole schebang less fun.
